# Philippe Billy

**Philippe Billy** (born 13 January 1982) is a French former professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)).

## Club career

Billy was born in [Nantes](/source/Nantes). He played extensively at French football clubs after making his professional debut in 2000, for clubs including [Bastia](/source/SC_Bastia) in [Ligue 1](/source/Ligue_1) and [Laval](/source/Stade_Lavallois) and [Brest](/source/Stade_Brestois_29) in [Ligue 2](/source/Ligue_2).

He also played several seasons for [Lecce](/source/U.S._Lecce) in the Italian [Serie A](/source/Serie_A) between 2001 and 2006, and one season with [Mons](/source/RAEC_Mons_(1910)) in the Belgian [Jupiler League](/source/Belgian_First_Division) in 2004–05.

On 27 January 2010, he signed with the [Montreal Impact](/source/Montreal_Impact_(1992%E2%80%932011)) of [USSF Division 2](/source/USSF_Division_2).[1] He was released by Montreal on 12 October 2011.[2]

One year later, in November 2012, he signs with [USJA Carquefou](/source/USJA_Carquefou) in the French third division.

## International career

Billy made five appearances for the [French U-21](/source/France_national_under-21_football_team) team during his youth, but has never been called up to the senior national side.

He also played for the non-[FIFA](/source/FIFA) affiliated [Brittany](/source/Brittany_national_football_team) national football team in a friendly game against [Congo](/source/Congo_national_football_team) in 2008.
