**Philipp Treu** (born 3 December 2000) is a German professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [right-back](/source/Right-back) for club [SC Freiburg](/source/SC_Freiburg).[1]

## Career

Treu was born in [Heidelberg](/source/Heidelberg). He joined the [SV Sandhausen](/source/SV_Sandhausen) youth at the age of 11 and also played youth football for [1. FC Kaiserslautern](/source/1._FC_Kaiserslautern) and [RB Leipzig](/source/RB_Leipzig) before joining the U17s of [SC Freiburg](/source/SC_Freiburg).[2] During the [2022–23 3. Liga](/source/2022%E2%80%9323_3._Liga) season with [SC Freiburg II](/source/SC_Freiburg_II), his performances drew the attention of league rivals [Dynamo Dresden](/source/Dynamo_Dresden) and of [Bundesliga](/source/Bundesliga) club [FC St. Pauli](/source/FC_St._Pauli).[2]

In May 2023 it was announced Treu would join Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli.[2]

On 30 June 2025, Treu returned to [SC Freiburg](/source/SC_Freiburg).[3]
