***Phenacogrammus polli*** is a species of freshwater [ray-finned fish](/source/Actinopterygii) belonging to the [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) [Alestidae](/source/Alestidae), the African tetras. It is found in the middle Congo River basin in the [Ruki River](/source/Ruki_River) drainage, the [Lomami river](/source/Lomami_river) and the Lindi-[Tshopo river](/source/Tshopo_river) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

*Phenacogrammus polli* reaches a [total length](/source/Total_length) of 3.2 cm (1.3 in).[1]

## Etymology

The tetra is named in honor of Belgian ichthyologist [Max Poll](/source/Max_Poll) (1908-1991).[2]
