(1844) Glycineae Burnett (1835) The [plant](/source/Plant) [tribe](/source/Tribe_(biology)) **Phaseoleae** is one of the subdivisions of the [legume](/source/Legume) [subfamily](/source/Subfamily) [Faboideae](/source/Faboideae), in the unranked [NPAAA clade](/source/Non-protein_amino_acid-accumulating_clade). This group includes many of the [beans](/source/Bean) cultivated for human and animal food, most importantly from the [genera](/source/Genus) *[Glycine](/source/Glycine_(plant))*, *[Phaseolus](/source/Phaseolus)*, and *[Vigna](/source/Vigna)*. ## Taxonomy Although the tribe as defined in the late 20th century does not appear to be [monophyletic](/source/Monophyletic), there does seem to be a monophyletic group which roughly corresponds to the tribe Phaseoleae (with some changes).
