**Petroiran Development Company Limited** (**Petroiran**; **PEDCO**) is an oil and gas company based in [Tehran](/source/Tehran), [Iran](/source/Iran). It is a subsidiary of [Naftiran Intertrade](/source/Naftiran_Intertrade), a part of the [National Iranian Oil Company](/source/National_Iranian_Oil_Company), responsible for developing [upstream](/source/Upstream_(petroleum_industry)) oil projects. The company was established in 1997 and in 1999 it was registered in [St. Helier](/source/St._Helier), [Jersey](/source/Jersey).[1][2]

In 2003 it was announced that Petroiran will merge with [Petropars](/source/Naftiran_Intertrade#Subsidiaries), another subsidiary of [Naftiran Intertrade](/source/Naftiran_Intertrade).[3] The merger did not take a place. In 2007, the company was designated for [privatization](/source/Privatization_in_Iran#Oil,_gas_and_petrochemicals).[4][5] On 14 December 2008, it was sold to [Dana Energy](/source/Dana_Energy).[6] However, the deal was not finalized.[7]

The company develops the [South Pars](/source/South_Pars_Gas_Field), [Azadegan](/source/Azadegan_oil_field), [Foroozan](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Foroozan_oil_field&action=edit&redlink=1), [Salman](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Salman_field&action=edit&redlink=1), [Nosrat](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nosrat_field&action=edit&redlink=1), [Farzam](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Farzam_field&action=edit&redlink=1) and [Arash](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Arash_field&action=edit&redlink=1) fields.[8][9] Belpars, a joint company of Petroiran and Belarusneft, a subsidiary of [Belneftekhim](/source/Belneftekhim), is developing the [Jofeir oil field](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jofeir_oil_field&action=edit&redlink=1).[10][11]

In 2006, the company had a legal dispute with [Romanian](/source/Romania) [Grup Servicii Petroliere](/source/Grup_Servicii_Petroliere) over the ownership of [jack-up](/source/Jack-up) [drilling rigs](/source/Drilling_rig) *[GSP Orizont](/source/GSP_Orizont)* and *[GSP Fortuna](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=GSP_Fortuna&action=edit&redlink=1)*.[12][13][14][15]
