# Petr Michl

**Petr Michl** (born 3 November 1970) is a Czech former [cross-country skier](/source/Cross-country_skiing_(sport)). He competed at the [1998](/source/1998_Winter_Olympics), the [2002](/source/2002_Winter_Olympics) and the [2006 Winter Olympics](/source/2006_Winter_Olympics).[1]

He made his [FIS Cross-Country World Cup](/source/FIS_Cross-Country_World_Cup) debut in January 1996 in [Štrbské Pleso](/source/%C5%A0trbsk%C3%A9_Pleso). He finished in lowly positions until the early stages of the [1996-97 FIS Cross-Country World Cup](/source/1996-97_FIS_Cross-Country_World_Cup), when he scored a 10th place in the 15 kilometre freestyle race in [Brusson](/source/Brusson,_Aosta_Valley). Further finishes in the top 25 came in January 1998 in [Ramsau](/source/Ramsau_am_Dachstein) (24th), January 1999 in [Nové Město](/source/Nov%C3%A9_M%C4%9Bsto_na_Morav%C4%9B) (16th), the [Holmenkollen ski festival](/source/Holmenkollen_ski_festival) of 2004 (18th) and February 2005 in [Reit im Winkl](/source/Reit_im_Winkl) (24th). His last World Cup outing was in November 2005 in [Kuusamo](/source/Kuusamo).[2]

Michl competed at the [FIS Nordic World Ski Championships](/source/FIS_Nordic_World_Ski_Championships) in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005. His best individual finish was a 16th place in the 50 kilometres in [2003](/source/FIS_Nordic_World_Ski_Championships_2003). In the 4x10 kilometre relay, he recorded a 7th place in 2003 and 8th in [2005](/source/FIS_Nordic_World_Ski_Championships_2005_%E2%80%93_Men's_4_%C3%97_10_kilometre_relay).[2]

His best Olympic results were almost identical, namely a 17th place in the [50 kilometre freestyle](/source/Cross-country_skiing_at_the_1998_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_50_kilometre_freestyle) of the 1998 Olympics; and a 7th place in the [4 × 10 kilometre relay](/source/Cross-country_skiing_at_the_2002_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_4_%C3%97_10_kilometre_relay) of the 2002 Olympics.[2] The 7th places in relay as well as and 16th and 17th places in the 50 kilometres are considered his best achievements.[3]

He represented the club Dukla Liberec.[2]
