# Peter Thoday

**Peter Ralph Thoday** (October 30, 1934 – May 5, 2023) was a [horticulturalist](/source/Horticulturalist) and television presenter. He was president of the [Institute of Horticulture](/source/Institute_of_Horticulture) from 1994 to 1996. He was awarded the [Veitch Memorial Medal](/source/Veitch_Memorial_Medal) by the [Royal Horticultural Society](/source/Royal_Horticultural_Society) in 2003 and the [Victoria Medal of Honour](/source/Victoria_Medal_of_Honour) in 2022.[1]
