German film director

**Peter Scheerer** (born 16 December 1973) is a German [film director](/source/Film_director), [film producer](/source/Film_producer) and [screenwriter](/source/Screenwriter). He collaborates on his movies with fellow [filmmaker](/source/Filmmaker) [Michael Roesch](/source/Michael_Roesch).

A film fan since his early childhood, Scheerer started shooting short [8 mm](/source/8_mm_film) movies while he was in high school.[1] After college Scheerer worked in advertising. Later he started together with his writing partner [Michael Roesch](/source/Michael_Roesch) a successful career as a screenwriter, and worked in various production capacities. Among their screenwriting credits are *[Alone in the Dark](/source/Alone_in_the_Dark_(2005_film))*,[2] *[House of the Dead 2](/source/House_of_the_Dead_2_(film))*[3] and *[Far Cry](/source/Far_Cry_(film))*.

In [2006](/source/2006_in_film) Roesch and Scheerer directed their first feature, the vampire thriller *[Brotherhood of Blood](/source/Brotherhood_of_Blood)*, starring [Victoria Pratt](/source/Victoria_Pratt), [Sid Haig](/source/Sid_Haig) and [Ken Foree](/source/Ken_Foree). The movie had its world premiere at the prestigious [Sitges Film Festival](/source/Sitges_Film_Festival) in Sitges, Spain in October 2007.

In 2007 Roesch and Scheerer directed *[Alone in the Dark II](/source/Alone_in_the_Dark_II_(film))*, starring [Rick Yune](/source/Rick_Yune), [Lance Henriksen](/source/Lance_Henriksen) and [Danny Trejo](/source/Danny_Trejo). It is a sequel to the 2005 film *[Alone in the Dark](/source/Alone_in_the_Dark_(2005_film))*.
