== Career ==
Born in Frankfurt am Main, Reulein studied Catholic church music at the [Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main](/source/Hochschule_f%C3%BCr_Musik_und_Darstellende_Kunst_Frankfurt_am_Main) with [Wolfgang Schäfer](/source/Wolfgang_Sch%C3%A4fer) and [Uwe Gronostay](/source/Uwe_Gronostay). After extended studies of organ improvisation with [Daniel Roth](/source/Daniel_Roth_(organist)) in Paris, he won several national and international competitions in this field,<ref name="Gottwals" /> for example in 1993 the competition of Belgian radio and the second prize and the public's prize at the [Festival Europäische Kirchenmusik](/source/Festival_Europ%C3%A4ische_Kirchenmusik) in [Schwäbisch Gmünd](/source/Schw%C3%A4bisch_Gm%C3%BCnd).<ref name="Liebfrauen" /> He continued his studies of interpretations with [Ludger Lohmann](/source/Ludger_Lohmann), [Ewald Kooiman](/source/Ewald_Kooiman) and [Wolfgang Rübsam](/source/Wolfgang_R%C3%BCbsam).<ref name="Liebfrauen" /> He took master classes with choral conductors such as [Eric Ericson](/source/Eric_Ericson) and [Helmuth Rilling](/source/Helmuth_Rilling).<ref name="Orgelmeile" />

From 1991, Reulein was the church musician at the [Heilig Geist](/source/Heilig_Geist%2C_Frankfurt) in Frankfurt-Riederwald, from 2000 he has held the position at [Liebfrauen](/source/Liebfrauen%2C_Frankfurt) in the centre of Frankfurt. There he directs a vocal ensemble, the choir Collegium Vocale, the orchestra Collegium Musicum and the youth choir Capuccinis.<ref name="Liebfrauen" /> He was instrumental in having a new organ built which {{ill|Karl Göckel|de}} completed in 2008. Reulein inaugurated it in a concert on 9 August, playing works by Bach, [César Franck](/source/C%C3%A9sar_Franck) and improvisation.<ref name="Arning" />

Reulein is known for composing new songs for church services ({{lang|de|[Neues Geistliches Lied](/source/Neues_Geistliches_Lied)}}), many of them on texts by [Eugen Eckert](/source/Eugen_Eckert).<ref name="Liebfrauen" /> Reulein was from 2000<ref name="Frank" /> until 2005 the head of the [Arbeitskreis Kirchenmusik und Jugendseelsorge im Bistum Limburg](/source/Arbeitskreis_Kirchenmusik_und_Jugendseelsorge_im_Bistum_Limburg), caring about more appropriate church music for young people. Reulein has been an instructor of liturgical organ playing and improvisation at the Frankfurt Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst from 2002. He was appointed {{ill|Bezirkskantor|de}} (regional cantor) for Frankfurt in 2008.<ref name="Liebfrauen" /><ref name="Limburg" />

In 2014, Reulein recorded at Liebfrauen a CD of ''Französische Orgelsymphonik'' (French symphonic organ music) with works by [Léon Boëllmann](/source/L%C3%A9on_Bo%C3%ABllmann), [Camille Saint-Saëns](/source/Camille_Saint-Sa%C3%ABns), [Alexandre Guilmant](/source/Alexandre_Guilmant) and [Charles-Marie Widor](/source/Charles-Marie_Widor).<ref name="CD" />

He was commissioned to compose an [oratorio](/source/oratorio) to celebrate in 2016 the 50th anniversary of church music in the [Catholic Diocese of Limburg](/source/Roman_Catholic_Diocese_of_Limburg), presenting different styles of church music. The text by [Helmut Schlegel](/source/Helmut_Schlegel), titled ''[Laudato si' – Ein franziskanisches Magnificat](/source/Laudato_si'_(oratorio))'' (A [Franciscan](/source/Order_of_Friars_Minor) [Magnificat](/source/Magnificat)) includes the Latin Magnificat, writings by [Francis of Assisi](/source/Francis_of_Assisi) and [Clare of Assisi](/source/Clare_of_Assisi), writings by [Pope Francis](/source/Pope_Francis) from the German version of ''[Laudato si'](/source/Laudato_si')'' to German, and other sacred texts. Reulein scored the work for five soloists, children's choir, [Choralschola](/source/Choralschola), mixed choir, organ and orchestra. It was published by the [Dehm-Verlag](/source/Patrick_Dehm) in Limburg in 2016 and first performed in the [Limburg Cathedral](/source/Limburg_Cathedral) on 6 November 2016, conducted by the composer.<ref name="Laudato si" />
