**Peter Prosper** (born 11 November 1969) is a Trinidadian former [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [striker](/source/Forward_(association_football)).

Prosper spent his club career between Trinidad and Tobago and Lebanon, playing for [United Petrotrin](/source/United_Petrotrin_F.C.), [Al Ansar](/source/Al_Ansar_FC), [South Starworld Strikers](/source/South_Starworld_Strikers_F.C.), [San Juan Jabloteh](/source/San_Juan_Jabloteh_F.C.), [Akhaa Ahli Aley](/source/Akhaa_Ahli_Aley_FC), [Al Mabarra](/source/Al_Mabarra_Club), and [Racing Beirut](/source/Racing_Club_Beirut). He also played for the [Trinidad and Tobago national team](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_football_team) between 1996 and 2003, representing them at the [1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup](/source/1998_CONCACAF_Gold_Cup).

## Early life

Prosper was a student at the [Presentation College](/source/Presentation_College%2C_San_Fernando) in [San Fernando](/source/San_Fernando%2C_Trinidad_and_Tobago), Trinidad and Tobago.[1]

## Club career

Prosper began his senior career at [TT Pro League](/source/TT_Pro_League) club [United Petrotrin](/source/United_Petrotrin_F.C.) during the 1995 season.**[2]** After two seasons in Trinidad and Tobago, in 1996 Prosper moved to Lebanon, joining [Lebanese Premier League](/source/Lebanese_Premier_League) reigning champions [Al Ansar](/source/Al_Ansar_FC).**[2]** In his first season in Lebanon, Prosper won the [1996–97](/source/1996%E2%80%9397_Lebanese_Premier_League) league title as the competition's top goalscorer with 22 goals.**[2]**[3] He was also nominated Al Ansar FC Player of the Year.[1] With Al Ansar, Prosper won the league title three consecutive seasons (1997 to 1999), as well as the [Lebanese FA Cup](/source/Lebanese_FA_Cup) in 2001–02.**[2]**

In 2003 Prosper moved back to United Petrotrin (SWIF), before joining [South Starworld Strikers](/source/South_Starworld_Strikers_F.C.) in January 2004.[1] He signed for [San Juan Jabloteh](/source/San_Juan_Jabloteh_F.C.) in October 2004,[4] scoring a [hat-trick](/source/Hat-trick) on his debut.[5] He moved back to Lebanon at [Akhaa Ahli Aley](/source/Akhaa_Ahli_Aley_FC) for the [2004–05 season](/source/2004%E2%80%9305_Lebanese_Premier_League), scoring three goals,**[2]** before moving back to United Petronin the following season.[6] In March 2006 played for San Juan Jaboleh, before joining United Petrotrin once again the same month.[1]

He left United Petrotrin in July 2007 to return to Lebanon once again, signing with [Al Mabarra](/source/Al_Mabarra_Club);[7] he won the [2007–08 Lebanese FA Cup](/source/2007%E2%80%9308_Lebanese_FA_Cup).**[2]** He ended his career with [Racing Beirut](/source/Racing_Club_Beirut) in Lebanon during the [2008–09 season](/source/2008%E2%80%9309_Lebanese_Premier_League).[1]

## International career

Prosper represented Trinidad and Tobago at under-23 level.[7] He made his senior debut for [Trinidad and Tobago](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_football_team) on 21 March 1996, in a friendly against [Colombia](/source/Colombia_national_football_team); the match ended in a 3–0 away defeat.[8] His first goals came in the form on a brace against [Saint Kitts and Nevis](/source/Saint_Kitts_and_Nevis_national_football_team) in the [1997 Caribbean Cup](/source/1997_Caribbean_Cup), on 13 July 1997, scoring twice to help his side win 4–0.[8]

Prosper represented Trinidad and Tobago at the [1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup](/source/1998_CONCACAF_Gold_Cup), coming on as a substitute against [Mexico](/source/Mexico_national_football_team) in a 4–2 defeat on 4 February 1998.[9] On 5 June 1999, he scored a hat-trick against [Grenada](/source/Grenada_national_football_team) at the [1999 Caribbean Cup](/source/1999_Caribbean_Cup); his side won the encounter 7–0.[10] Prosper earned a total of 17 international caps for [Trinidad and Tobago](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_football_team) between 1996 and 2003, scoring seven goals.[1]
