**Peter Prince** (born 10 May 1942)[1] is a British [novelist](/source/Novelist). He was born in England and studied in America. His first novel *Play Things* won the [Somerset Maugham Award](/source/Somerset_Maugham_Award) in 1973.[2] He was nominated for an [Emmy Award](/source/Emmy_Award) for Outstanding Writing in a Limited Series or a Special for his work on the 1980 [BBC](/source/BBC) miniseries *[Oppenheimer](/source/Oppenheimer_(TV_series))*. His 1983 novel *The Good Father* was adapted into a [1985 film of the same name](/source/The_Good_Father) starring [Anthony Hopkins](/source/Anthony_Hopkins).[3] His latest novel *Adam Runaway* was published in 2005.
