This genus has a long time been regarded as a subgenus of ''[Turcica](/source/Turcica)'' <small>H. & A. Adams, 1854</small>. Previously it was considered a (problematic) subgenus of ''[Euchelus](/source/Euchelus)'' <small>Philippi, 1847</small>.<ref name="Tryon" />

==Description==
The imperforate shell is small (less than 20&nbsp;mm) and has a trochiform shape. The [whorl](/source/Whorl_(mollusc))s are flattened and cancellated with a strongly indented [suture](/source/Suture_(anatomy)). The [aperture](/source/Aperture_(mollusc)) is quadrangular. The outer [lip](/source/Lip_(gastropod)) is lirate (= with fine linear elevations) within.
