***Perrierbambus*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of [Madagascan](/source/Madagascar) [bamboo](/source/Bamboo) in the [grass family](/source/Poaceae).[1][2][3]

The genus name of *Perrierbambus* is in honour of [Joseph Marie Henry Alfred Perrier de la Bâthie](/source/Joseph_Marie_Henry_Alfred_Perrier_de_la_B%C3%A2thie) (1873–1958), a French botanist who specialized in the plants of Madagascar.[4] It was first described and published in Bull. Soc. Bot. France Vol.71 on pages 699-700 in 1924.[5]
