The '''Permanent Force''' was an integral part of both the [South African Defence Force](/source/South_African_Defence_Force) and the [South West Africa Territorial Force](/source/SWATF) which consisted of all the full-time volunteers, volunteers of [Auxiliaries](/source/Auxiliaries) and [national service](/source/national_service)men.
