# Percival River

The **Percival River** is a river of the [Canterbury](/source/Canterbury,_New_Zealand) region of New Zealand's [South Island](/source/South_Island). It flows southwest from its origins in the [Hanmer Range](/source/Hanmer_Range) to the northeast of [Hanmer Springs](/source/Hanmer_Springs), reaching the [Waiau River](/source/Waiau_River,_Canterbury) 7 kilometres (4 mi) south of the town.
