The **Pelly Formation**, also referred to as the **Pelly Sequence**, is a [geological formation](/source/Geological_formation) in central [Yukon](/source/Yukon), Canada.[1][2] It consists of lava flows that have yielded ages of 1.28 ± 0.03 million years and 1.6 to 0.89 million years, indicating that they were erupted during the [Pleistocene](/source/Pleistocene) epoch.[1][3] The Pelly Formation has a volume of approximately 15 km3 (3.6 cu mi) and is one of several volcanic features overlying the [Yukon–Tanana](/source/Yukon%E2%80%93Tanana_terrane) and [Stikinia](/source/Stikinia) [terranes](/source/Terrane) of northwestern North America. It is part of the [Northern Cordilleran Volcanic Province](/source/Northern_Cordilleran_Volcanic_Province) and contains [xenoliths](/source/Xenolith) composed of [lherzolite](/source/Lherzolite), [dunite](/source/Dunite), [wehrlite](/source/Wehrlite) or [websterite](/source/Websterite).[1]
