Co-produced, written and directed by [Rudy De Luca](/source/Rudy_De_Luca) and [Barry Levinson](/source/Barry_Levinson), the special featured an early broadcast network appearance of [David Letterman](/source/David_Letterman).[2] [David Frost](/source/David_Frost) was co-executive producer.
