**Paul Eng Kim Sng** is a British documentary filmmaker and writer, based in [Edinburgh](/source/Edinburgh).[1]

## Life and work

Sng was born in North London[2] to working-class British and Chinese-Singaporean parents.[3][4]

He has made films about opposition to the [United Kingdom government austerity programme](/source/United_Kingdom_government_austerity_programme),[5] the shortage of [social housing](/source/Public_housing) in Britain,[6] and [homelessness](/source/Homelessness).[7] Sng has profiled public figures such as [Sleaford Mods](/source/Sleaford_Mods); [Poly Styrene](/source/Poly_Styrene) with music writer [Zoë Howe](/source/Zo%C3%AB_Howe) and Styrene's daughter Celeste Bell;[8] and [Tish Murtha](/source/Tish_Murtha) with Murtha's daughter Ella.[9]
