# Paul Meehan

**Paul Meehan** (born 12 March 1938) is a former English [cricketer](/source/Cricket). Meehan was a right-handed [batsman](/source/Batsman_(cricket)) who bowled [slow left-arm orthodox](/source/Slow_left-arm_orthodox). He was born in Liverpool, [Lancashire](/source/Lancashire).

Meehan made his [Minor Counties Championship](/source/Minor_Counties_Championship) debut for [Wiltshire](/source/Wiltshire_County_Cricket_Club) in 1966 against [Dorset](/source/Dorset_County_Cricket_Club). From 1966 to 1989, he represented the county in 84 Minor Counties Championship matches, the last of which came against [Wales Minor Counties](/source/Wales_Minor_Counties_Cricket_Club).[1] Meehan also represented Wiltshire in the [MCCA Knockout Trophy](/source/MCCA_Knockout_Trophy). His debut in that competition came against [Cornwall](/source/Cornwall_County_Cricket_Club) in 1987. From 1987 to 1988, he represented the county in 4 Trophy matches, the last of which came against Cornwall.[2]

Meehan also represented Wiltshire in [List A cricket](/source/List_A_cricket). His List A debut came against [Hampshire](/source/Hampshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the [1972 Gillette Cup](/source/1972_Gillette_Cup). Between 1972 and 1988, he represented the county in 4 List A matches, the last of which came against [Essex](/source/Essex_County_Cricket_Club) in the [1988 NatWest Trophy](/source/1988_NatWest_Trophy).[3] In his 4 matches, he scored 48 runs at a [batting average](/source/Batting_average_(cricket)) of 9.50, with a high score of 20.[4] With the ball he took 2 wickets at a [bowling average](/source/Bowling_average) of 79.00, with best figures of 1/61.[5]
