**Paul Jeffrey Foerster** (born November 19, 1963) is an American [sailor](/source/Sailing_(sport)).

He received All-American honors three times from the [Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association](/source/Inter-Collegiate_Sailing_Association) sailing for the [University of Texas at Austin](/source/University_of_Texas_at_Austin) and competed at four Olympic Games in sailing: 1988, 1992, 2000, and 2004, winning total of three Olympic medals during his career. In the [Flying Dutchman (FD) class](/source/Flying_Dutchman_(dinghy)) he was successful with [Stephen Bourdow](/source/Stephen_Bourdow) (Silver 1992), and then in the [470 class](/source/470_(dinghy)) with [Bob Merrick](/source/Bob_Merrick) (silver, 2000) and [Kevin Burnham](/source/Kevin_Burnham) (gold, 2004).

He now sails from [Rush Creek Yacht Club](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rush_Creek_Yacht_Club&action=edit&redlink=1) in [Heath, Texas](/source/Heath%2C_Texas), on [Lake Ray Hubbard](/source/Lake_Ray_Hubbard) east of [Dallas, Texas](/source/Dallas%2C_Texas). Foerster was inducted into the [National Sailing Hall of Fame](/source/National_Sailing_Hall_of_Fame) in 2015.[1] He has won the [J/22 World Championship](/source/J%2F22_World_Championship) multiple times.[2]
