**Brian Paul Ellis** [MNZM](/source/Member_of_the_New_Zealand_Order_of_Merit) (born 1962 or 1963) is a New Zealand [record producer](/source/Record_producer), [manager](/source/Talent_manager), and [radio host](/source/Radio_host). He is most known to audiences for being the former judge of *[New Zealand Idol](/source/New_Zealand_Idol)*[3] and a former judge of the [reality series](/source/Reality_series) *[New Zealand's Got Talent](/source/New_Zealand's_Got_Talent)*.[4]

Ellis was appointed a [Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit](/source/Member_of_the_New_Zealand_Order_of_Merit) in the [2011 Queen's Birthday Honours](/source/2011_Birthday_Honours_(New_Zealand)), for services to the music industry.[5]

In 2016, he was presented with the Fullers Entertainment Award from the [Variety Artists Club of New Zealand](/source/Variety_Artists_Club_of_New_Zealand) for his services to the entertainment industry.[6]

Ellis sits on the boards of The Starship Foundation[7] and Digital Media Trust.[8]
