**Patrick Edward Dorey** is a British mathematical physicist. He is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at [Durham University](/source/Durham_University).[1]

## Education

Dorey completed his PhD in 1990 at [Durham University](/source/Durham_University), where he was supervised by [Ed Corrigan](/source/Ed_Corrigan).[2]

## Career

Dorey returned to Durham in 1993 after working as a [postdoc](/source/Postdoc) at [Saclay](/source/Institute_of_Theoretical_Physics,_Saclay) and [CERN](/source/CERN). His main research interest is conformal and integrable field theories.[1] He was elected a [Fellow of the Institute of Physics](/source/Fellow_of_the_Institute_of_Physics) in 2000.[1]

He has also served as a visiting lecturer at the [African Institute of Mathematical Sciences](/source/African_Institute_of_Mathematical_Sciences) (AIMS) in [Cape Town](/source/Cape_Town), South Africa, where he remains an associate faculty member.[3][4]
