# Patrick DesRochers

**Patrick Joseph DesRochers** (born 27 October 1979) is a Canadian former professional [ice hockey](/source/Ice_hockey) goaltender. He played 11 games in the [National Hockey League](/source/National_Hockey_League) with the [Phoenix Coyotes](/source/Phoenix_Coyotes) and [Carolina Hurricanes](/source/Carolina_Hurricanes) between 2001 and 2003. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1999 to 2013, was spent in the minor leagues or in Europe.

## Playing career

He played junior hockey for the [Sarnia Sting](/source/Sarnia_Sting) and [Kingston Frontenacs](/source/Kingston_Frontenacs) of the [Ontario Hockey League](/source/Ontario_Hockey_League).

DesRochers played briefly for both the [Phoenix Coyotes](/source/Phoenix_Coyotes) and [Carolina Hurricanes](/source/Carolina_Hurricanes) of the [NHL](/source/NHL), but spent most of his professional career in the [AHL](/source/American_Hockey_League) with the [Springfield Falcons](/source/Springfield_Falcons) (for whom he is the career leader among goaltenders in games played), [Lowell Lock Monsters](/source/Lowell_Lock_Monsters) and [San Antonio Rampage](/source/San_Antonio_Rampage).

DesRochers went to Europe before the 2006–07 season, signing with [ETC Crimmitschau](/source/ETC_Crimmitschau). He spent [2007-08](/source/2007%E2%80%9308_DEL_season) with the [Augsburger Panther](/source/Augsburger_Panther) of the [Deutsche Eishockey Liga](/source/Deutsche_Eishockey_Liga) but became a free agent after the club decided to sign a German goalie. On 12 April 2008, he was presented as the new goaltender of [Norwegian](/source/Norway) team [Vålerenga](/source/V%C3%A5lerenga_Ishockey).[1]
