# Patrick Chapin

**Patrick Chapin** is an American *[Magic: The Gathering](/source/Magic:_The_Gathering)* Pro Tour player and a game designer for [*Eternal*](/source/Eternal_(video_game)) at Dire Wolf Digital.[5][6]

## Achievements

Chapin has made six [Pro Tour](/source/Magic:_The_Gathering_Pro_Tour) top eights,[7] spanning three decades, and four [Grand Prix](/source/Grand_Prix_(Magic:_The_Gathering)) top eights. In 2012, Chapin was voted into the [*Magic: The Gathering* Hall of Fame](/source/Magic:_The_Gathering_Hall_of_Fame). His induction took place during Pro Tour Return to Ravnica in October 2012.[8] A mirror match against [Gabriel Nassif](/source/Gabriel_Nassif) at Worlds 2007 featuring Chapin's Dragonstorm deck "remains one of the most entertaining matches of Magic ever seen on camera".[4]

Chapin is the author of two books, *[Next Level Magic](https://www.amazon.com/Next-Level-Magic-Patrick-Chapin/dp/B007BCGO5K)*, published in 2010, and *[Next Level Deckbuilding](https://starcitygames.com/next-level-deckbuilding-ebook/)*. He has published over 85 articles on Star City Games[9] and produces *[Top Level Podcast](https://www.toplevelpodcast.com/)* with Michael Flores. In 2011, he published a rap album with Bill Boulden, [Tha Gatherin](https://music.apple.com/us/album/tha-gatherin-feat-bill-boulden-patrick-chapin/437038714).
