In 1956, along with the [reorganisation of the states](/source/States_Reorganisation_Commission), three police stations of [Manbhum district](/source/Manbhum), namely Patamda, [Ichagarh](/source/Ichagarh) and [Chandil](/source/Chandil) were transferred to Singhbhum district.
