He became assistant coach to [Jean-Francois Domergue](/source/Jean-Francois_Domergue) and subsequently [Rolland Courbis](/source/Rolland_Courbis) at [Montpellier HSC](/source/Montpellier_HSC). In 2009, he became assistant to Montpellier's coach [René Girard](/source/Ren%C3%A9_Girard_(footballer)) and the club  won the championship of France in 2012.
