The shell of this species was used to make [lei](/source/lei_(garland)), like ''[Partula varia](/source/Partula_varia)'' from the same island.

==Distribution==
This species was [endemic](/source/Endemism) to [Huahine](/source/Huahine), [French Polynesia](/source/French_Polynesia). It was extinct in the wild, only existing in captivity.<ref name="iucn" />
