==Distribution and habitat==
''P. meyeri'' is known only from Mount Tefatua (also called Mount Toomaru), the highest peak on the island of [Raiatea](/source/Raiatea) in the [Society Islands](/source/Society_Islands), [French Polynesia](/source/French_Polynesia). The [holotype](/source/holotype) and two other specimens, the only ones recorded so far, were collected in a wet gulch at about {{convert|950|m|-1}} elevation, just below the mountain summit.<ref name="iucn status 13 November 2021" /><ref name="Burch"/><ref name="oryx">{{cite journal| author=Taehwan Lee| author2=Jean-Yves Meyer| author3=John B. ''P. meyeri'' has a conical [spire](/source/Spire_(mollusc)), evenly rounded [whorls](/source/Whorl_(mollusc)), and a brown, translucent [shell](/source/Gastropod_shell) with whorls terminating in a large, oval [aperture](/source/aperture_(mollusc)) ({{frac|2|3}} the shell length) that has a thin, expanded [peristome](/source/Peristome). The shell measures approximately {{cvt|16.5|mm}} in length and {{cvt|10.5|mm}} in width.<ref name="Burch"/>
