'''''Partula lutea''''' was a [species](/source/species) of air-breathing [tropical](/source/tropical) [land snail](/source/land_snail), a [terrestrial](/source/terrestrial_molluscs) [pulmonate](/source/pulmonate) [gastropod](/source/gastropod) [mollusk](/source/mollusk) in the [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) [Partulidae](/source/Partulidae). 

This species was [endemic](/source/Endemism) to [Bora Bora](/source/Bora_Bora), [French Polynesia](/source/French_Polynesia). It is now [extinct](/source/extinct).<ref name="iucn status 14 November 2021" /> This was a relatively uniform species with several color forms and was originally exceedingly common on [Mount Otemanu](/source/Mount_Otemanu), yet was originally believed to have become extinct in the early 1990s. Evidence in the condition of recently collected shells show that ''P. lutea'' survived 10 years further than it had once been thought. Some shells have been found in lava tubes or under rocky overhangs in forests of ''[Hibiscus tiliaceaus](/source/Hibiscus_tiliaceus)''. The species had become extinct due to predation by flatworms, ''[Euglandina](/source/Euglandina)'', and ''[Lissachatina](/source/Lissachatina_fulica)'' species.
