Paremhat is also the third month of the [Season of the Emergence](/source/Season_of_the_Emergence), when the [Nile floods](/source/Flooding_of_the_Nile) recede and the crops start to grow throughout the land of Egypt.

The Coptic name ''Paremhat'' comes from the ancient Egyptian name "Month of [Amenhotep&nbsp;I](/source/Amenhotep%26nbsp%3BI)" ({{langx|egy|pꜣ n jmn-htp.w}}), who [was deified](/source/apotheosis) at the end of his reign {{c.|1500}}{{nbsp}}BC.{{Citation needed|date=April 2019}} The month had formerly been known as '''Rekeh-Nedjes'''.
