**Panpur** is an outgrowth of [Bhatpara](/source/Bhatpara) in [Barrackpore I](/source/Barrackpore_I) [CD Block](/source/Community_development_block_in_India) in [Barrackpore subdivision](/source/Barrackpore_subdivision) of [North 24 Parganas district](/source/North_24_Parganas_district) in the state of [West Bengal](/source/West_Bengal), [India](/source/India).

### Location

96% of the population of [Barrackpore subdivision](/source/Barrackpore_subdivision) (partly presented in the map alongside) live in urban areas. In 2011, it had a density of population of 10,967 per km2 The subdivision has 16 municipalities and 24 census towns.[1]
