# Pan Wenhua

**Pan Wenhua** (traditional Chinese: 潘文華; simplified Chinese: 潘文华; pinyin: *Pān Wénhuá*; 16 October 1886 – 16 November 1950), [courtesy name](/source/Courtesy_name) **Zhongsan** (仲三) was a [Kuomintang](/source/Kuomintang) general from [Sichuan](/source/Sichuan).

## Biography

Born in [Renshou County](/source/Renshou_County), Sichuan in 1885, Pan was the Command of the 28th Division of the [National Revolutionary Army](/source/National_Revolutionary_Army) in the [Second Sino-Japanese War](/source/Second_Sino-Japanese_War). In the winter of 1944 he secretly joined the [China Democratic League](/source/China_Democratic_League), maintaining frequent contact with top-ranking Chinese Communists such as [Mao Zedong](/source/Mao_Zedong), [Zhou Enlai](/source/Zhou_Enlai),[1] [Wang Ruofei](/source/Wang_Ruofei) (王若飞), etc. He died of natural causes in [Chengdu](/source/Chengdu) in 1950.
