**Pamiers station** ([French](/source/French_language): *Gare de Pamiers)* is a railway station in [Pamiers](/source/Pamiers), [Occitanie](/source/Occitania_(administrative_region)), France. The station is served by [TER](/source/Transport_express_r%C3%A9gional) (local) services and [Intercités de nuit](/source/Intercit%C3%A9s_de_nuit) night services operated by [SNCF](/source/SNCF).

The station is located at [kilometric point](/source/Kilometric_point) (KP) 64.220 on the [Portet-Saint-Simon–Puigcerdà railway](/source/Portet-Saint-Simon%E2%80%93Puigcerd%C3%A0_railway), between the open stations of [Le Vernet-d'Ariège](/source/Le_Vernet-d'Ari%C3%A8ge_station) and [Varilhes](/source/Varilhes_station). The station was also the origin and branch location of the now closed [Pamiers–Limoux railway](/source/Pamiers%E2%80%93Limoux_railway).

## History

It was built by the [Chemins de fer du Midi](/source/Chemins_de_fer_du_Midi) on 19 October 1861 and was the terminus of the line until it was extended to [Foix](/source/Gare_de_Foix) on 7 April 1862. The station used to be a junction onto the now closed [Pamiers–Limoux railway](/source/Pamiers%E2%80%93Limoux_railway) from November 1898 to 1939.

The station gained its room in 1903 and the line was electrified in 1927.
