'''Padure Manor''' ({{langx|lv|Padures muižas pils}}) is a [manor house](/source/manor_house) built in [empire style](/source/empire_style) located about 200 metres from a large pond formed by the waters of the [Venta](/source/Venta_(river)) river, in [Padure Parish](/source/Padure_Parish), [Kuldīga Municipality](/source/Kuld%C4%ABga_Municipality), [Latvia](/source/Latvia). Used as a war hospital during the [German occupation](/source/German_occupation_of_Latvia_during_World_War_II) in the [Second World War](/source/Second_World_War), it housed the Padure parish library until 2005.

The manor house was erected in the late 1830s to the early 1840s.<ref name=LPMA>{{cite web|last=LATVIJAS PIĻU UN MUIŽU ASOCIĀCIJA|title=Historical information|url=http://padure-en.pilis.lv/Home/historical-information|publisher=LATVIJAS PIĻU UN MUIŽU ASOCIĀCIJA|access-date=17 August 2012|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120818064531/http://padure-en.pilis.lv/Home/historical-information|archive-date=18 August 2012}}</ref> The first owner was the Scottish merchant [John Louis Balfour](/source/Balfour_(surname)) who acquired the property from the von Stempel family, who owned the Padure estate and [Turkalne Manor](/source/Turkalne_Manor).<ref name=LPMA/> His eldest son, Alfon Balfour, managed the estate until the beginning of the 1920s.<ref name=LPMA/> After the [Latvian Agrarian Reform](/source/Latvian_Land_Reform_of_1920) was instituted, from 1922 the manor was managed by the government of Latvia.<ref>[http://www.paduremanor.com/ Padure manor] Website</ref>

From 1 April 1923, a school was opened.<ref name=LPMA/> During the [German occupation](/source/German_occupation_of_Latvia_during_World_War_II) the manor served as a war hospital and after 1945, the buildings of the estate began to be used as an agricultural experimental station.<ref name=LPMA/> Until 2005, the manor housed the Padure parish library.<ref name=LPMA/>
