# Pablo Garabello

**Pablo Javier Garabello** (born 3 September 1973) is an Argentine football [manager](/source/Manager_(association_football)) and former player who played as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder). He is the current manager for [Liga Nacional](/source/Liga_Nacional_de_F%C3%BAtbol_de_Guatemala) club [Iztapa](/source/Deportivo_Iztapa).

## Playing career

Born in [Buenos Aires](/source/Buenos_Aires), Garabello represented [Los Andes](/source/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_Los_Andes), [San Lorenzo](/source/San_Lorenzo_de_Almagro), [River Plate](/source/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_River_Plate) and [Argentinos Juniors](/source/Argentinos_Juniors) as a youth. He made his senior debut with American side Florida Strikers, before playing for local sides [San Martín de Burzaco](/source/San_Mart%C3%ADn_de_Burzaco) and [Barracas Central](/source/Barracas_Central) before retiring.[1]

## Managerial career

After managing River Plate's youth sides, Garabello started his managerial career with [JJ Urquiza](/source/JJ_Urquiza) in 2003. After working as an assistant manager at [Argentino de Merlo](/source/Argentino_de_Merlo), [San Miguel](/source/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_San_Miguel) and [Excursionistas](/source/CA_Excursionistas), he joined [José Pékerman](/source/Jos%C3%A9_P%C3%A9kerman)'s staff at [Toluca](/source/Deportivo_Toluca_F.C.) in 2007.

Garabello worked as Pékerman's assistant in 2009 at [Tigres UANL](/source/Tigres_UANL) before being named manager of [Leandro N. Alem](/source/Club_Leandro_N._Alem) in December 2010.[2] He resigned from the club the following 9 May, after a 1–3 loss against [Talleres de Remedios de Escalada](/source/Talleres_de_Remedios_de_Escalada).[3]

In 2012, Garabello returned to work with Pékerman as his assistant in the [Colombia national team](/source/Colombia_national_football_team).[4] On 10 May 2019, he was named manager of Colombian side [Cúcuta Deportivo](/source/C%C3%BAcuta_Deportivo),[5] but left in a mutual consent on 13 August.[6]

In February 2020, Garabello was appointed manager of [Categoría Primera B](/source/Categor%C3%ADa_Primera_B) side [Fortaleza](/source/Fortaleza_C.E.I.F.).[7] On 3 December, he took over Peruvian side [UTC](/source/Universidad_T%C3%A9cnica_de_Cajamarca).[8]
