**P2000** is a one-way [communications network](/source/Communications_network) for [pagers](/source/Pager) based on [Motorola](/source/Motorola)'s [FLEX-protocol](/source/FLEX_(protocol)) in [the Netherlands](/source/The_Netherlands). The network is used by all [emergency services](/source/Emergency_services) and provides nationwide coverage. Several tests have shown the network can cope with the largest [disasters](/source/Disaster) when large numbers of emergency personnel need to be reached. The P2000 network is maintained by the [Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations](/source/Ministry_of_the_Interior_and_Kingdom_Relations).

Messages are similar to [SMS](/source/Short_message_service)-messages. The FLEX-protocol does not provide [encryption](/source/Encryption), which means any message can be read by everyone with a receiver. Several websites provide a live monitor for all messages on this network.
