# Ozan Yanar

**Ozan Göksu Yanar**[2] (born 3 May 1987) is a Finnish politician and a former Member of the [Finnish Parliament](/source/Finnish_Parliament), representing the [Green League](/source/Green_League). He has been the chairman of the [Federation of Green Youth and Students](/source/Federation_of_Green_Youth_and_Students) since 2015.[3]

## Early life

Yanar was born on 3 May 1987 in [Istanbul](/source/Istanbul), Turkey. He attended the [University of Helsinki](/source/University_of_Helsinki).

## Career

Yanar was elected to the Parliament in the [2015 election](/source/Finnish_parliamentary_election,_2015), with 4,196 votes,[4] taking office on 22 April 2015. He took part in the [2019 election](/source/2019_Finnish_parliamentary_election) but was not re-elected,[5] and left office on 16 April 2019.
