# Owen Strachan

**Owen Strachan** (pronounced "Stran"[1]) is an American [Calvinist](/source/Calvinist) theologian. He is [provost](/source/Provost_(education)) of Grace Bible Theological Seminary in [Arkansas](/source/Arkansas) and became the Senior Director of the Dobson Culture Center in June 2024.

Strachan studied at [Bowdoin College](/source/Bowdoin_College), [Southern Baptist Theological Seminary](/source/Southern_Baptist_Theological_Seminary), and [Trinity Evangelical Divinity School](/source/Trinity_Evangelical_Divinity_School).[2] He previously taught at [Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary](/source/Midwestern_Baptist_Theological_Seminary) and served as president of the [Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood](/source/Council_on_Biblical_Manhood_and_Womanhood) from 2014 to 2016.[3][4][5]

Strachan is a critic of both [wokeness](/source/Wokeness)[6] and [Christian nationalism](/source/Christian_nationalism).[7] His podcast "Grace and Truth with Owen Strachan" is hosted by the [Salem Podcast Network](/source/Salem_Podcast_Network).[8] Mark Wingfield, writing for *[Baptist News Global](/source/Baptist_News_Global)* in 2022, suggested that Strachan "remains an influential person among the right-most flank of the [SBC](/source/Southern_Baptist_Convention)."[9]
