'''Overlade''' is a village in western [Himmerland](/source/Himmerland), Denmark, with a population of 396 (1 January 2025),<ref>[https://m.statbank.dk/TableInfo/BY3?lang=en BY3: Population 1. January, by urban areas] The Mobile Statbank from [Statistics Denmark](/source/Statistics_Denmark)</ref> located 12&nbsp;km north from [Farsø](/source/Fars%C3%B8), 16&nbsp;km south of [Løgstør](/source/L%C3%B8gst%C3%B8r), 3 kilometers from the [Limfjord](/source/Limfjord) and seven kilometers south of [Ranum](/source/Ranum).
The village is located in the [North Denmark Region](/source/North_Denmark_Region) and belongs to [Vesthimmerland Municipality](/source/Vesthimmerland_Municipality). 

Overlade was founded by the monks of [Vitskøl Abbey](/source/Vitsk%C3%B8l_Abbey) most likely the monks were from the [Cistercian Order](/source/Cistercian_Order). The village has a recent history of rich business with several factories, [forges](/source/Forge), [bakeries](/source/bakery), [butcher sale](/source/butcher) a bicycle shop and much more. The village inn burned down in 1984.
