**Over Compton** is a village and [civil parish](/source/Civil_parishes_in_England) in north west [Dorset](/source/Dorset), [England](/source/England), situated in the [Yeo valley](/source/River_Yeo_(South_Somerset)) 2 miles (3.2 km) east of [Yeovil](/source/Yeovil). In the [2011 census](/source/United_Kingdom_Census_2011) the parish had a population of 183.[1]

Compton House, formerly the home of the Goodden family, lies outside the village. [St Michael's Church](/source/St_Michael's_Church%2C_Over_Compton) is on the estate. The [MCC](/source/Marylebone_Cricket_Club) [cricketer](/source/Cricket) [Cecil Goodden](/source/Cecil_Goodden) was born in Compton House.
