# OutlookSoft

**OutlookSoft Corporation** was a [Stamford](/source/Stamford,_Connecticut), [Connecticut](/source/Connecticut) based software company with products for [business performance management](/source/Business_performance_management) including planning, consolidation, forecasting, budgeting, dashboards, [predictive analytics](/source/Predictive_analytics) and reporting. Along with OutlookSoft, other vendors in the performance management space include [SAS](/source/SAS_Institute), [Cognos](/source/Cognos) (acquired by [IBM](/source/IBM) in 2008), [Business Objects](/source/Business_Objects_(company)) (acquired by [SAP AG](/source/SAP) in 2007) and [Hyperion Solutions Corporation](/source/Hyperion_Solutions_Corporation) (acquired by Oracle in 2007).[1]

In 2006, OutlookSoft was named in the top 25% in [Deloitte](/source/Deloitte)'s Technology Fast 500,[2] and in the same year, was sued by competitor, [Hyperion](/source/Hyperion_Solutions_Corporation), over [software patents](/source/Software_patents), winning a dismissal in October 2006 as the jury found no patent infringement and subsequently ruled the patents ineligible for claim.[3] In June 2007, [SAP AG](/source/SAP_AG) announced its proposed acquisition of OutlookSoft, as a part of its strategy to challenge [Oracle Corporation](/source/Oracle_Corporation).[4] Although the purchase price was never disclosed, estimates placed it between $200 and $400 million.[5]

SAP acquired OutlookSoft in 2007, with the terms of the deal remaining undisclosed.[6] OutlookSoft's largest product was revamped as SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) after acquisition by SAP AG.[7]

[SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)](https://www.sap.com/products/technology-platform/cloud-analytics/features.html) is now the successor to SAP BPC.[8]
