**Ouderkerk** (Dutch pronunciation: [\[ˈʌudərˌkɛr(ə)k\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Dutch) [ⓘ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:346_Ouderkerk.ogg)) is a former municipality in the western [Netherlands](/source/Netherlands), in the province of [South Holland](/source/South_Holland). Since 2015 it has been a part of the municipality of [Krimpenerwaard](/source/Krimpenerwaard).

The former municipality covered an area of 28.57 km2 (11.03 sq mi) of which 1.50 km2 (0.58 sq mi) was water. It was formed on 1 January 1985, after a municipal reorganization.

The former municipality of Ouderkerk consisted of the population centres [Gouderak](/source/Gouderak), [Lageweg](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lageweg&action=edit&redlink=1), [Ouderkerk aan den IJssel](/source/Ouderkerk_aan_den_IJssel), and IJssellaan, all situated along the [Hollandse IJssel](/source/Hollandse_IJssel) river.
