In the [heart](/source/heart), orthodromic may also refer to an impulse going from the [atria](/source/atrium_(heart)) to the [ventricle](/source/ventricle_(heart))s through the [AV node](/source/Atrioventricular_node), in contrast to some impulses in [re-entry](/source/Cardiac_dysrhythmia) that go from the atria to the ventricles through an anomalous [accessory pathway](/source/accessory_pathway) (antidromic conduction through de AV node).
