Orlando Fraser was born to the politician [Sir Hugh Fraser MBE](/source/Hugh_Fraser_(British_politician)) and the writer [Lady Antonia Fraser CH DBE FRSL](/source/Antonia_Fraser). His grandfathers were the [14th Lord Lovat](/source/Simon_Fraser%2C_14th_Lord_Lovat) and the [7th Earl of Longford](/source/Frank_Pakenham%2C_7th_Earl_of_Longford).

Fraser served on the board of the Charity Commission from 2013 to 2017. He has also served on the Civil Justice Council and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations’ Advisory Council.<ref name=":0" />

Fraser served as chairman of the Charity Commission from 2022 to 2025.
