== Route description ==

OR 74 begins at an intersection with I-84 approximately {{convert|11|mi|km}} east of [Arlington](/source/Arlington%2C_Oregon) at [Heppner Junction](/source/Heppner_Junction%2C_Oregon).  It heads southeast through [Ione](/source/Ione%2C_Oregon) to [Lexington](/source/Lexington%2C_Oregon).  At Lexington, OR 74 overlaps [OR 207](/source/Oregon_Route_207) and continues southeast to [Heppner](/source/Heppner%2C_Oregon).  The concurrency ends at Heppner, and OR 74 continues east to [Nye](/source/Nye%2C_Oregon), ending at an intersection with US 395.
