***Orconectes packardi***, the **Appalachian cave crayfish**,[2] is a species of [crayfish](/source/Crayfish) in the family [Cambaridae](/source/Cambaridae). It is [endemic](/source/Endemism) to [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky),[1][2] where it is found in 16 caves in four southeastern counties in the [Cumberland River](/source/Cumberland_River) basin.[2]

Formerly a subspecies of [O. australis](/source/Orconectes_australis), it was raised to species status by Buhay and [Crandall](/source/Keith_A._Crandall) in 2008.[1]
