# Opsaridium boweni

***Opsaridium boweni*** is a species of [ray-finned fish](/source/Ray-finned_fish) in the family [Danionidae](/source/Danionidae). It is found in the [Lulua River](/source/Lulua_River) in [Democratic Republic of the Congo](/source/Democratic_Republic_of_the_Congo).[2]

## Etymology

The fish is named in honor of ornithologist [Wilfrid Wedgwood Bowen](/source/Wilfrid_Wedgwood_Bowen) (1899–1987), who collected the holotype specimen and several others which he obtained while a member of the [Gray African Expedition](/source/Gray_African_Expedition).[3]
