==History==
The sister company of e.tv, Platco Digital, launched the Openview HD platform on 16 October 2013.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.itweb.co.za/content/Wdgp45MazaVqX9l8|title=OpenView HD goes live|date=2013-10-16|website=ITWeb|language=en-ZA|access-date=2019-02-15}}</ref> The product came to the market during a time when [South Africa's transition](/source/Television_in_South_Africa) to [digital terrestrial television](/source/digital_terrestrial_television) was slowed down both due to political and corporate gridlock. In 2018, the system became known simply as OpenView.
