The '''Olway Brook''' ([Welsh](/source/Welsh_language): ''Nant Olwy'') is a left bank tributary of the [River Usk](/source/River_Usk) in [Monmouthshire](/source/Monmouthshire) in south [Wales](/source/Wales). Arising from the confluence of several brooks in the vicinity of [Llansoy](/source/Llansoy) including the Llangofen, Penarth and Pontyrhydan brooks, it flows west to [Llandenny](/source/Llandenny), where it is joined by the Nant y Wilcae from Raglan, then southwest to be joined by the waters of the Pill brook and Llan-gwm-isaf Brook. Approaching the edge of the town of [Usk](/source/Usk) it does not join the River Usk here but flows south, sub-parallel to the major river for over 3 km before joining it 750m south of the hamlet of [Llanllowell](/source/Llanllowell). The catchment of the brook is almost wholly [Old Red Sandstone](/source/Old_Red_Sandstone).<ref>{{cite book |last1=Brown |first1=A.G. |last2=Bassell |first2=L.S. |last3=Butzer |first3=K.W |title=Holocene sedimentation in a pericoastal river system, South Wales, UK in Geoarchaeology, Climate Change and Sustainability |date=2011 |publisher=The Geological Society of America |location=Boulder, Colorado |page=95}}</ref>
