Kayode won the silver medal in [4 × 100 m relay](/source/4_%C3%97_100_m_relay) at the [1992 Olympic Games](/source/Athletics_at_the_1992_Summer_Olympics) in Barcelona, Spain, together with teammates [Chidi Imoh](/source/Chidi_Imoh), [Olapade Adeniken](/source/Olapade_Adeniken) and [Davidson Ezinwa](/source/Davidson_Ezinwa). He also won a silver medal in [200 metres](/source/200_metres) at the 1993 African Championships and was Nigerian national champion on that distance in 1993 and 1994 respectively. He finished sixth in the 200 metres at the [1994 Commonwealth Games](/source/Athletics_at_the_1994_Commonwealth_Games).
